About Richmond County Court Records

Court records in Richmond County live across several offices -- the Richmond County Clerk, the New York State Unified Court System, the New York City Department of Correction, and a handful of state agencies. Finding the right office on the first try is half the battle. We built this site so you can land on the right portal, address, or phone number without bouncing between government websites.

Why We Built This Site

New York gives the public broad access to court records, but figuring out which office holds the file you want is the hard part. The New York State Unified Court System runs the main trial courts on Staten Island: the Supreme Court handles felony prosecutions and major civil matters, the Civil Court covers smaller money disputes and landlord-tenant cases, the Criminal Court processes misdemeanors and violations, and the Family Court handles custody, support, and child-protection proceedings. Surrogate's Court handles probate, wills, and estate administration separately. The Richmond County Clerk maintains land records, civil Supreme Court filings, and certified copies. Add the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and the NYC Department of Correction, and the picture gets crowded fast. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

What You Will Find Here

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any New York court, the Office of the Richmond County Clerk, the New York City Department of Correction, or any state or city agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

  • We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them -- the Richmond County Clerk's office at 130 Stuyvesant Place, the Supreme Court clerk's window, or the relevant court's records room.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.

Keeping Information Current

Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. The New York State Unified Court System updates its portals and fee schedules without much notice. We update pages as we hear about changes, but gaps happen. Before you drive to the Staten Island Courthouse at 26 Central Avenue or 130 Stuyvesant Place, call ahead first.
